January Favourites // 2015

With the end of January coming to a close I thought it could be a good idea to do a post about what I have been loving this month. For the new year I tried many different things (some being more successful than others) and gone back to some old favourites.
I'm going to start with my beauty favourites.
The first thing I've been loving this month is the TRESemme 24 Hour Body Shampoo and Conditioner. I always have trouble finding products which don't send my hair greasy after 2 days or loose it's effect after the 4th time I use it. This month I've gone back to using TRESemme products and haven't regretted it since. The 24 Hour Body Shampoo and Conditioner do exactly what it's says and has left my hair feeling and looking more voluminous than it has before. In the past I've taken the habit of skipping conditioner as it always seemed to leave my hair to flat and hard to style but this product certainly doesn't do that and now that it's restored my faith in conditioners my hair is slowly being restored back to health.
My second beauty favourite is the Nivea Daily Essentials Rich Moisturising Day Cream. Nivea products are always a go to for me and on a daily basis I use many of their products. Skincare is always a tricky one because different brands react differently to peoples skin and for me Nivea is by far the best and over the years has really helped me clear up and keep my skin as good as it can. This cream says it's for Dry & Sensitive Skin but it works great still with my Combintation skin type. Once again Nivea has treated me well.
The next beauty product is the L'Oreal Paris Studio Line Matt & Messy Shine-Free Salt Spray. I mentioned it in my last blog post and said how much I loved it so I'll only write a brief bit here, but even though I only purchased this a few days ago I still fell in love with it and it deserved a spot in my monthly favourites. Compared to other salt sprays I've tried this L'Oreal one has done a magnificent job and transforming my hair. (My love for it is expressed here).
My final favourite beauty product of this month is my MAC Lipstick Lustre in shade:Plumful. Ever since I've had this it has been used like hell and has become my favourite lipstick. MAC lipsticks are such good quality and a brand certainly worth the money. They apply and sit so nicely on the lips and they last for hours. I love this pink shade as it's slightly darker than a too girly pink and it's great for a rosey end of winter look.
Now for my random favourites.
This month I have been loving the Fruiteatox. For a fresh start to the year I wanted to try a detox tea and my first one I decided to try was Fruiteatox (written about in a previous blog post click here). I didn't know what to expect as I have never tried any before but I can honestly say I am happy with the results. The Daytox Lemon Tea was certainly my favourite and a great way to start the morning. And the Sleeptox Orange Tea was relaxing for the evening and left me having a great night's sleep, once I'd got past the lavender smell though). Overall through my detox I lost 6 pounds which I am chuffed about. On most days I stuck to a healthy diet and the exercise plan but on others I did forget, so if I can still lose weight like that then imagine what would happen if I completely stuck too it?! I definitely recommend Fruiteatox for anyone looking for a great detox drink.
Next up is the Alpro Soya Vanilla Yoghurt. As a vegan, I can obviously not consume any dairy products, and obviously Alpro Soya is the best alternative. I'm a massive fan of yoghurt for breakfast, lunch or snacks and in the past I've only really had the Strawberry and Rhubarb flavour. I thought I'd be 'adventurous' and try the vanilla flavour and my god is it good. Anything wit vanilla in I love and this is no exception. Even for people who have dairy I think they should try this because not only does it taste incredibly but it's also a tad more healthy. Win win I'd say.
I watch a lot of netlfix and switch between TV shows but this month Prison Break is the one for me. I got given the box set for Christmas and after having started to watch it a few days before I was thrilled as it meant I could easily get hooked. Any TV series, documentary or film set in a prison I tend to love so this is really made for me. This crime/thriller/action series is up there with my favourite of all time. You get so hooked with all the characters who are involved and even though there's so much going on it's so easy to follow as everything fits together so well. Anyone who is looking for a new series to watch, even if you're into more girly programmes I recommend you watch it, there is nothing not to love about this programme.
I love things that smell nice like candles and air fresheners, including incense sticks which are another monthly favourite. My current favourite scents are meditation and coconut. These are so cheap and they give off such a strong smell to fill your room for ages. I like to light them just before I go to bed (but make sure it's burned out before bed) as the smell makes me relaxed and easy to sleep. The ones I have been using most at the moment are meditation by elements.
The last favourite of January is jewellery, inparticular necklaces. I love wearing necklaces wether it's a small dainty one, a choker or layering and I really love unique and interesting pieces. For this post I have chosen my three favourite necklaces of this month which I find myself wearing ALOT. The first is my arrowhead necklace from Damsel Jewellery. I have mentioned them a lot in previous blog posts but ever since I received my necklace I wear it so often. It's such an unusual necklace but I manage to make it work with pretty much everything. The next is my purple amythyst necklace from a little shop near me called Very Bazaar. I love crystal necklaces and anything with the colour purple so this necklace is a great piece. I find pendant necklaces so easy to wear and because I'm a skirt and dress girl I try and pull it off with them all the time. The final piece that I have particularly been loving this month is my Ohm choker from Shop Luminoire. I purchased this choker so long ago and I love it particularly when layering. This is the first choker/necklace I bought from an online store and because of that my love for such pieces/brands has grown.
