| Freshly done, a little swollen and red. |
There was only one thing I wanted for my 18th, and that was a tattoo.
It had been a long time coming as I can't remember a time when I didn't repeatedly draw on myself or admire others body art, so no-one was surprised that it was all I could talk about a few weeks (probably months) before I had it done. There was obviously the very stereotypical comments of 'You do realise that it's permanent?' and 'Why would you want to mutilate your body?' (my personal favourite), especially from older relatives, but a lot of people where encouraging and with parents who like tattoos themselves they couldn't really say no either. As I spoke about it so often wherever I went I like to think I surprised people when I actually got it done, especially as a few months before I was still properly deciding what I wanted done.
I personally love finding out about peoples tattoos so nearly two weeks on I thought I'd share do a Q&A / FAQ for those who are like me and want to be covered head to toe or those who are just intrigued. *If you have any other questions feel free to comment below and I'll reply back*
I got my tattoo done at Black Market Tattoo in Leicester by Nush. Everyone at the tattoo shop was lovely and I had such a fun and welcoming time. I was seriously recommend checking them out.

Did it hurt?
In general I really don't think it hurt. I think it was more uncomfortable but definitely not the point where I wanted to stop. It literally feels like what it is, a needle scratching on your skin. The most painful part was probably my wrist and also the shading towards the end. I can see why people find it painful especially if you have a low pain tolerance but I really didn't mind at all.

Why a wolf/What does it mean?
My tattoo has no meaning other than I really liked it. Wolves are my favourite animal and I knew that it would make a really cool forearm piece. I wanted something that didn't look too realistic but still had a lot of detail. The geometric patterns behind and the leaf design at the bottom were little extras I really wanted incorporated somehow after I had seen it look awesome on other designs. I'm all for meaningful tattoos but personally I don't think a lot of mine will.

It's healing really well. The initial swelling has gone completely and it's stopped itching so it's now at the pealing stage. I made sure that I kept it moisturised well which has most certainly helped in the healing and it's looking great. It's hard to describe but it looks like a real tattoo now, it looks permanent.
Would you get another one?
HELL YES! I always knew I wanted to be covered and not even half an hour later I was itching to go back and get another. They are addictive.
Did you ever feel nervous/have regrets when getting it done?
Not at all. I honestly thought I would be so nervous on the day but I was so calm the whole time. Even when I was in there I didn't feel a hint of regret. I was far too excited, I'd been waiting so long.
Has anyone in public commented on it?
No they haven't. I haven't really been out many places since getting it done but it would be so cool if someone did. Everyone has them these days so I highly doubt that it will happen.
What do your friends/family think?
My mum was the one who payed for most of it as a birthday present so she was all for it. So was the rest of my family apart from grandparents. It wasn't a last minute 'I'm 18' choice, it was a long term decision, so they were happy for me to do it. My nan actually really liked it even though she's normally quite reserved about them. My friends were just as excited as I was and so many of them love it!

I hope this gave you an insight into my first tattoo. I love it so much and I can't wait to get many, many more.
