One of the best things about these kind of gigs is definitely the crowd. This show had almost sold out it's 3,000 capacity and everyone was just excited and pumped as the next to see one or more of their much loved bands play. I'd met some lovely people during the day and even in the venue and I think this makes a gig a hundreds time better.
Volumes came on and even though I had never heard of them prior to this tour, I was blown away with their performance. One of their stand out songs for me was definitely Erased and I have had it on repeat since.
The Amity Affliction are a band I have been wanting to see for ages and they did not disappoint. They are such a talented band and even though they could be compared to similar bands, they have a certain presence when performing which makes them stand out for the rest. Some of their better known songs like Pittsburgh, Death's Hand and Don't Lean On Me certainly had the crowd going.
As weird as it sounds I love the music that is played in between the acts. At these shows the played Bring Me The Horizon and A Day To Remember on repeat, which got to the whole crowd singing along.
And of course, then Of Mice & Men came out. From the moment they stepped foot on stage they had the whole audience in the palm of their hand. Repeating every lyric, screaming at every speech, and reacting to every bass line. There is no denying that they are all incredibly talented musicians and Aaron Pauley and Austin Carlile are amazing vocalists. Aaron performing Another You was one of the highlights for me. It's such an emotional and gentle song but can still get a metal audience going. O.G Loko is always a stand out song and it's so weird to see who is familiar with OM&M's sets and joins in with 'I GO HARD IN THE MOTHERFUCKING PAINT!'. Without a doubt though the best song of the night was Second & Sebring. They didn't play it at Leeds Festival and I was heartbroken about not hearing my favourite song. It's a favourite and clear winner with everyone at their gigs and hearing everyone sing back every single lyric is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen and won't forget anytime soon.
This weekend I'll be seeing Bury Tomorrow so expect another gig review soon.
